ANT 420 - Applied Anthropology

The course engages students in contemporary anthropological practice. Students explore applied anthropology through anthropological theories, methods and practices for engaging communities and addressing 'real world' problems. Topics may include the history of engaged anthropology, public and advocacy anthropology, action/participatory research, and the ethical issues of engagement and social change. Offered fall semester. Prerequisites: ANT 204; junior standing.
