Craig Benjamin, associate professor of history, Meijer Honors College, gave presentations, “World History and Big History,” and “Teaching the Big History of the Ancient Americas in the Undergraduate Classroom,” at the World History Association Annual Conference in San Jose, Costa Rica. Benjamin is president of the WHA.

Sebastian Maisel, associate professor of Middle East Studies, was interviewed by media outlets, including Associated Press and al-Jazeera, for stories about massacres in Iraq and Syria by the terror organization Islamic State.

An interview with Ellen Schendel, Associate Dean of the Brooks College, appears in the book Shaping Work-Life Culture in Higher Education: A Guide for Academic Leaders, written by Laura Koppes Bryan with Cheryl A. Wilson and recently published by Routledge. Schendel’s interview focuses on clearly articulated and easily accessible maternity leave policies for faculty and staff.

Jonathan White, professor of Honors, was interviewed by WZZM-TV for a story about the terrorist group ISIS.
