The Dreaming life of the Australian Aborigines is a world rich in insight into the way people from a non-literate society manage their existence. The Dreaming, or Tjukurpa, (time of the ancestors), offers up a compendium of myth and lore that enable these people to spiritualize their landscape, both physically and culturally. To enter the Dreaming is thus to go on an imaginal journey into the deepest aspect of ourselves. This lecture by international author James Cowan and traveler uncovers the structure of the Dreaming and its place in the cultural life of all people. Join him on his travels among the Australian Aborigines of the Central Australian desert.
