Brooks College Faculty Giving "Last Lecture"

March 03, 2011

At Student Senate’s Last Lecture, Sheldon Kopperl, Biomedical Science and Liberal Studies professor; and Danielle DeMuth, Women and Gender Studies professor, will present at the annual event on Thursday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Pere Marquette room in the Kirkhof Center.

The event, held at universities across the nation, is inspired by a speech delivered in 2007 by cancer-stricken Carnegie Mellon University professor Randy Pausch titled, “The Last Lecture.” It focused on celebrating the life he had always dreamed of instead of concentrating on death. He died almost a year after giving the speech at age 47.

“This event is a great opportunity for students to see professors present a lecture that holds special significance to them,” said Lauren Kaercher, vice president of educational affairs for Student Senate.

The event is free approved for LIB 100. Pizza will be provided.
