Alternate Pathways to GVSU MAT
Grand Valley State University's (GVSU) Master of Athletic Training (MAT) Program has established strategic pathways for high school students through partnerships with Career and Technical Education (CTE) Centers, via direct credit offerings. There are additional opportunities for college students through our Community College partnerships and Affiliated Agreements. These pathways are designed to provide a clear and seamless transition into GVSU's Bachelor of Science degree programs in Allied Health Sciences (AHS), Exercise Science (EXS) with a Health Care Emphasis, or the AHS or EXS combined degree pathways, with the ultimate goal of applying to and completing the MAT program.

What is Direct Credit?
Direct Credit is a form of concurrent enrollment where students earn college credit for the career and technical education (CTE) courses they take at their local Career Tech Center or High School. The course(s) are confirmed to be equivalent by GVSU faculty, and the program instructors are qualified through the GVSU Faculty Qualification Assurance (FQA) review process. Upon completing the program, students with a B or better will receive a GVSU transcript with their course(s) and grade(s) listed. For more information about direct credit please visit https://www.gvsu.edu/directcredit/.
