The Seidman MBA with Health Sector Management Emphasis

West Michigan reflects national trends of growth and change in the health care industry. Managed care is making it increasingly important for providers to understand the business of health care. The Seidman MBA with a Health Sector Management emphasis will provide you the traditional MBA with health administration electives designed specifically to develop your understanding of this dynamic industry.

Seidman is partnering with Grand Valley’s School of Public and Nonprofit Administration to make available specific health-focused courses to cover the elective portion of the MBA program. If you are interested in focusing your graduate program on the health care industry, you will complete the following 12 courses:

BUS 610, Management Information Systems
BUS 631, Organizational Dynamics/Leadership
BUS 671, Global Competitiveness
BUS 681, Strategy

Four of the following five courses:
ACC 611, Contemporary Managerial Accounting
FIN 621, Financial Policy for Managers
ECO 641, Business Economics and Strategy
MKT 651, Marketing Management
MGT 661, Operations Management

The following three courses will be completed in lieu of other business electives:

Note that PA 634, Health Care Law and Ethics, replaces BUS 677, Ethical Problems and Perspectives, and PA 630, 631, and 633 replace other graduate business electives in the program. These substitutions result in a 36-credit program; while, without the emphasis, the MBA is 33 credits
