Graduate Programs Introduction
The Seidman College offers four graduate business degrees, the Master of Business Administration (MBA), the Master of Science in Accounting (MSA), the Master of Science in Taxation (MST), and a combined Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN/MBA). The programs are fully accredited by the AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The Seidman College also partners with Michigan State University - Detroit College of Law to offer dual degrees in law and business administration (JD/MBA) and law and taxation (JD/MST). A certificate program in e-commerce is also offered.
The Seidman College welcomes applicants who, as a result of work experience or undergraduate education, are interested in expanding or continuing their professional education in business administration. The graduate curricula provide skills and knowledge that facilitate immediate practical application to today's business challenges. Graduate candidates master the abilities to analyze problems, develop solutions, and evaluate results in an environment of constant change. The Seidman College is housed in Grand Valley's Pew campus, located in the heart of the greater Grand Rapids business community. Convenient for students and for community involvement, this location facilitates interaction among graduate students and business community leaders. In fact, our ties to the business community are a special source of pride and have been applauded by our accrediting body. It is common for area CEOs and other business leaders to meet with classes and interact with students in a variety of ways. The programs are open to qualified individuals with bachelor's degrees from accredited colleges and universities. No particular undergraduate degree is necessary. Candidates are admitted into the master degree programs on the basis of interest, aptitude, and capacity for study as indicated by previous academic record, test scores, and work experience. For your convenience, the MBA program also offers courses on the Holland Meijer Campus.
