GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Mexico and Canada account for 62 percent of all Michigan exports. The two countries are Michigan's largest trade partners, recording $37.4 billion of trade in 2017.

Grand Valley State University's Van Andel Global Trade Center is holding a seminar, "Doing Business in Mexico and Canada," September 25 from 8 a.m.-noon at the L. William Seidman Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.

"There are enormous export opportunities for Michigan companies to grow and develop in these markets," said Sonja Johnson, VAGTC executive director. "With an ever-evolving trade landscape, it is important to keep up to date on the best practices for doing business in Mexico and Canada."

The conference includes information on the current business climate in Mexico and Canada, free trade agreements and best practices for making successful business deals.

The conference is underwritten by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and sponsored by Supply Chain Solutions and Plante Moran.
