GVSU Auto Suppliers Symposium addresses changing industry

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Automotive experts will discuss future trends for auto suppliers at the 18th West Michigan Automotive Suppliers Symposium, hosted by Grand Valley State University's Van Andel Global Trade Center.

The event will be held March 9 on Grand Valley's Pew Grand Rapids Campus. The theme for this year's symposium is "Automotive's Age of Change: What's Next?" 

The yearly event brings together business owners, senior management and decision makers from all tiers of the industry, providing the most up-to-date automotive forecasts and trends, and opportunities to network.

18th West Michigan Automotive Suppliers Symposium

Thursday, March 9

8 a.m.-noon

Loosemore Auditorium, DeVos Center, Pew Grand Rapids Campus

The keynote speaker will be Bryan Nyeholt from YanFeng Automotive Interiors; his speech is entitled "Positioned to Win in Healthy & Growing Segments."  

Nyeholt is Global Vice President of Product Management. He previously worked at Prince Corporation with roles in operations, purchasing, program management and finance and sales. He also worked for Johnson Controls in program management and global innovation.    

Other speakers:  

• Mike Wall, director of Automotive Analysis for IHS Markit, will talk about the outlook for the auto industry.

• Panelists who will discuss best practices for suppliers include: Jay Dunwell, Wolverine Coil Spring; Jim Bradbury, Grand Rapids Control; Doug Baker, Sound Off Signal; and Jeff Piper, Shape Corporation.
