Peg West joined University Communications in 2019 after several years working in University Marketing. While with UComm, she has led efforts to strategize content for external audiences, including GVNext, and has helped create content that was recognized by the WMPRSA PRoof Awards.

Before joining GVSU, she was a journalist in the West Michigan market for nearly 25 years, first as a reporter and assistant editor for The Grand Rapids Press, then as editor of the Muskegon Chronicle for MLive.com, where she led the newsroom as it transitioned to a digital platform operation.

She is a graduate of Michigan State University.
