Allied Health Sciences - Emphasis in Physical Therapy
The Allied Health Sciences (AHS) degree at Grand Valley State University offers an exciting and flexible pathway for students in Northern Michigan who want to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist.
Grand Valley State University's Doctor of Physical Therapy degree is offered through the College of Health Professions. Physical therapists are valued for their ability to independently evaluate, diagnose, treat and prevent disorders of human movement in a wide variety of clinical and community settings. Our program features 15 full-time faculty members, 12 of whom hold advanced clinical practice certifications. Our program is well situated along the Medical Mile in Grand Rapids and enjoys an outstanding reputation among its students and in the community.

If you're interested in direct patient care, the AHS degree provides a pathway to clinical settings. You'll gain foundational skills that can lead to clinical role training through internships, advanced programs, or one of GVSU's professional graduate options.
