What are the Responsibilities of the Title IX Coordinator?

Theresa Rowland, GVSU's Title IX Coordinator, is responsible for monitoring, oversight, and implementation of the University's Title IX compliance, including the coordination of training, education, communications, and the administration of grievance procedures for faculty, staff, students, and other members of the University community.  Theresa primarily oversees complaints involving employees.

Theresa can answer questions and provide information about the University’s policies and procedures, resources and support services related to sexual misconduct and sexual or gender-based harassment.  

Accordingly, a victim/survivor of sexual misconduct might wish to file a report directly with Theresa, Michael or through the University’s online reporting form.

What are the Responsibilities of the Deputy Title IX Coordinator?

Michael Szydlowski, GVSU's Deputy Title IX Coordinator, assists with the implementation of the University's Title IX compliance.   Michael primarily oversees complaints involving students and assists students with academic accommodations and interim measures.

Michael can answer questions and provide information about the University’s policies and procedures, resources and support services related to sexual misconduct and sexual or gender-based harassment.  

Accordingly, a victim/survivor of sexual misconduct might wish to file a report directly with Michael, Theresa, or through the University’s online reporting form.
