Students often pay for study abroad through a combination of financial aid, personal funds, scholarships, grants, and alternative loans. This total program cost does not reflect the amount of aid you will qualify for, rather, it serves as the cap on what can be awarded.

CIDEF Tuition (12-15 credits)

$3,500-$5,000

Your CIDEF tuition fees will be billed to your GVSU account under the title of a UCO Program Fee. Students on this program will not pay GVSU tuition. The program fee will be paid to GVSU's Student Accounts by the regular payment deadline. GVSU will collect the CIDEF fees for tuition and the homestay cost and forward them to CIDEF on the student's behalf. This is an estimate amount for tuition and may be subject to change due to exchange fluctuations and cost adjustments.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since students are not paying GVSU tuition, this program may not be eligible for the 1098T Education Tax Credit since tuition is being paid to a foreign institution. Your GVSU 1098T will show the amount of your tuition in Box 1 and an equal amount in the Scholarship/Grants in Box 5.  They will offset each other.  You will need to contact the IRS to find out if tuition paid to a foreign institution may qualify for the Education Tax Credit. For more information on the Education Tax Credit go to https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/education-credits-aotc-llc
