IS 380 Course Fee

Paid to GVSU. The IS 380 course fee is $28 per credit hour. Participants of this program will register for 12 credits of IS 380.

Chubb Insurance

GVSU requires all study abroad students to have coverage under the Chubb insurance program. The cost is $1.91 per day. This is a general estimate is based on 120 days. The actual number of days of this program may vary.

UBB requires all exchange students to apply for health insurance in Romania. The cost of this insurance is about $45 USD per month.

On-site expense paid to UBB. Currently 220 Lei per month or around $55 USD per month. he housing is a shared dormitory with either 1 or 2 roommates. Estimate is based on 5 months. Note: Students interested in renting an apartment can expect to pay between 200-300 Euro per month.

Out-of-state students who receive a GVSU tuition differential scholarship will be able to use that scholarship towards the cost of this program. Exception: International students will not have access to the tuition differential scholarship for use towards the cost of study abroad, however, they may still be eligible for the Study Abroad Grant.

Estimated costs are based on a rate of exchange of 1 RON = 0.22 USD. Exchange rates fluctuate and may impact the estimates listed above. The rate listed here is the rate as of June 2023.

 

*Based on in-state, upper-division tuition rate. If you complete more than 15 GVSU credits during your semester abroad, tuition charges for the additional credits above 15 will be billed to your student account after you return from study abroad and PIC completes the transfer of credit.
