This is the estimated budget for this study abroad program. It serves as an estimated cost of attendance for your semester or year abroad. Students often pay for study abroad through a combination of financial aid, personal funds, scholarships, grants, and alternative loans. The total amount listed as the Total Program Cost is the maximum amount of financial aid that can be awarded to you by GVSU. This total program cost does not reflect the amount of aid you will qualify for, rather, it serves as the cap on what can be awarded.

IS 380 Course Fee

Paid to GVSU. The IS 380 course fee is $28 per credit hour. Participants of this program will register for 12 credits of IS 380.

Chubb Insurance

The Chubb Insurance will be billed on your GVSU student account. The semester dates vary semester to semester. This cost estimate is based on 120 days at a cost of $1.46 per day.

Currency exchange fluctuations will continue to impact the estimated costs of this program. The exchange rates are not stable and should be check periodically. This cost estimate is based on the exchange rate as of August 23, 2022. 928 Chilean Pesos = $1 USD

 

The Padnos International Center offers Partnership grants (excluding summer). See PIC website for eligibility criteria.

Out-of-state students who receive a GVSU tuition differential scholarship will be able to use that scholarship towards the cost of this program. Exception: International students will not have access to the tuition differential scholarship for use towards the cost of this program, however, they may still be eligible for a Study Abroad Grant and/or the exchange student scholarship.

*Based on in-state, upper-division tuition rate. If you complete more than 15 GVSU credits during your semester abroad, tuition charges for the additional credits above 15 will be billed to your student account after you return from study abroad and PIC completes the transfer of credit.

**Housing costs will vary based on preferences.

Off-campus shared house usually with other international students (includes utilities only) estimated cost is $250-650 US per month and does not include meals.

The homestay option includes meals, laundry, and utilities.

Pension is a room in a house with a local family (utilities included, meals not included) estimated cost is $300-350 per mo. Available only in Concepcion.
