The Student Support Services (SSS) program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements and serves to motivate students toward the successful completion of their post-secondary education. The goal of the program is to offer every possible form of support for participants moving along their journey to graduation from Grand Valley State University. Students who identify as first-generation college students, low-income, and/or students with disabilities with a need for academic support are eligible to participate in SSS projects.

The TRIO Student Support Service program at Grand Valley State University is committed to increasing the rates of academic achievement, retention, and graduation among historically underrepresented students. This is accomplished by providing holistic and individualized support services that maximize students' innate abilities and draw upon available resources within and outside of the University to benefit students, families and the larger community.

TRIO Student Support Services provides a number of services, including but not limited to: Holistic Advising, Scheduling  & Study Skills assistance, Time management assistance, Financial aid counseling, Graduate school counseling, Study abroad advising and more!
