3D Printing
We believe in artistic expression, however, no one will be permitted to use the 3D printers to create material that is:
- Prohibited by local, state or federal law.
- Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses a threat to the well-being of others.
- Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the university's educational environment.
- In violation of another person's intellectual property rights.
Our 3D printing services may only be used for lawful purposes.
All students, faculty, and staff must present a valid GVSU ID and email address, along with a valid 3D print file, in person to submit a print request.
- To ensure capacity and availability of printing to the GVSU community, singular files must be under 12 hours when submitted. For class assignments or educational prints, students, faculty, and staff may submit a state of reasoning if believed that a special circumstance requires more time.
- In one single order, each file request is limited to 5 similar/related files. (For example, 5 parts of a file that you’re making, or 5 replicas of a keychain.)
- All patrons must pick up their previous order prior to submitting a new order. There may not be two orders for the same person in the queue at one time.
- Class or educational prints require at least 3 business days (Monday through Friday, not including the day submitted) to assure that they can be completed before the assignment due date. An electronic submission of the assignment proof will be needed.
The Creative Innovation Lab reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request.
