"I find that being involved with Campus Recreation has helped me to meet people from departments I otherwise would not be engaged with. I have gained a new appreciation for getting and staying healthy, and it has helped me with managing stress. I have a mom with Alzheimer's and a sibling with Parkinson's. I need to be ON for them, more than ever before.

I have been working out for many years, but when I started working at GVSU 5 years ago, I had the opportunity to do so much more. I have been teaching Spinning classes for several years, which has been so wonderful. My a.m. Spin class has encouraged ME to take TRX classes, which I have been doing now for at least 2 years. I am much stronger as a result. Being I am in my 50's, I continue to be on a journey to a healthy life because there are no guarantees in life...except that if you don't take care of yourself nobody will do it for you!

I enjoy the variety of things I can do through Campus Recreation. From the great classes available (TRX, Straight up Strength in Winter Hall, teaching Spinning, running the track during snowmageddon, and all the machines!), there is never a lack of motivators.

I Rec so that I won't be a wreck!"
