Description
Warming temperatures and melting snow means one significant thing. It's almost bike riding season! We probably don't have to tell you but bikes are much more fun to ride when they're working properly and we believe that everyone should know how to do a few basic tasks. Not only can this knowledge keep you out of a tight spot you when you're out riding around, it can prevent costly shop bills.
While the total event time is scheduled as 3 hours, we have structured the workshop as a 30-45 minute lesson, offered multiple times. Due to the short duration, we will focus on the most important things first and will branch out from there as time allows. We are happy to do our best to address any specific basic maintenance issues too. Topics may include:
- Changing a flat
- Brakes: inspecting, adjusting, & replacing rim-type brakes (as opposed to disc brakes)
- Shifters: basic adjustments
- Other general tune-up topics upon request/ time allows
Outdoor Adventures will provide necessary tools and plans to have practice bikes/ parts available on a limited basis.
This event also appears on the main events calendar tagged as dsa, dsafirstyear, dsasecondyear, outdooradventures, and recwell.
