Description
For experienced climbers who want to take their climbing to the next level. This workshop will instruct the basics of indoor lead climbing and belaying in a 2-day format. It will be held on back to back Wednesdays (3/25 and 4/1). Adequate completion of both sections in addition to logged practice time and a formal skills evaluation are required to receive your lead climbing "certification" at GVSU.
Climbers should be confident in their climbing abilities and will have to complete their "10's" before the workshop. This means that you should be able to climb three (3) 5.10's cleanly & comfortably on top rope under the supervision of a Climbing Center staff member before participating in this workshop.
It is strongly recommended that climbers have their own personal harness, shoes, and belay device. Rope and quickdraws will be provided by the Climbing Center.
