Esports Broadcast Producer

Qualifications

  • Must be an enrolled student during Fall 2023 & Winter 2024
  • CPR / First Aid Certified (provided if hired).
  • Experience with streaming software such as VMix or OBS is preferred.
  • Experience working with PC / gaming equipment preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work well with others, as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Attend trainings required to preform the job duties

Responsibilities

  • Lead weekly production meeting to finalize production schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with game leaders on weekly match schedules.
  • Collaborate with the production team to schedule casters, observers and floor managers for each broadcast.
  • Know how to problem solve hardware and software issues that may occur in preparation for or during a production. Training will be provided.
  • Know how to prepare VMix effectively for each broadcast to ensure a smooth production. Training will be provided.
  • Know how to operate VMix effectively during each broadcast to ensure a smooth production. Training will be provided.
  • Attend all trainings, meetings and in-services. Complete all online trainings as assigned.
  • Maintain a professional standard when working with all necessary stakeholders.
  • Experience with broadcasting/production/streaming is preferred, but not required.

Details

Start Date: August 2023

Duration: This position will have fall and winter needs, and most of the work is in the evening operating the esports broadcast.

Hours: Part time, flexible hours up 10 hours per week. Hours vary weekly based on needs.

Hourly Rate: $13.20

Location: GVSU Allendale Campus, KC0094 Communications Studio

Esports Broadcast Floor Manager

Qualifications

  • Must be an enrolled student during Fall 2023 & Winter 2024
  • CPR / First Aid Certified (provided if hired).
  • Experience with production hardware is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with PC / gaming equipment preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work well with others, as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Attend trainings required to preform the job duties

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly production meetings to finalize the production schedule.
  • Supervise the talent floor and live audience in KC0094 during live broadcasts.
  • Know how to problem solve hardware issues that may occur in preparation for or during a production. Training will be provided.
  • Know how to set up the production hardware in preparation for each broadcast. Training will be provided.
  • Execute end of broadcast procedures to ensure proper shutdown of equipment and escort any remaining students/staff out of KC0094.
  • Attend all trainings, meetings and in-services. Complete all online trainings as assigned.
  • Maintain a professional standard when working with all necessary stakeholders.
  • Experience with broadcasting/production/streaming is preferred, but not required.
