Parking Information
Visitor
Visitor parking at the IDC is limited to the ADA compliant spaces in front of the building. These spaces require a parking permit. Please contact Mackenzie Meyer at [email protected] if you require a visitor parking permit.
There are also metered parking spaces and city parking lots surrounding the IDC. The Starbucks adjacent to the IDC has metered parking as well.
Bus
If you will be taking a bus to Project Day, you will receive drop off and pick up procedures from the PCE Outreach team. There is curbside drop off and pick up outside the IDC and there is bus parking available on Scribner Avenue near the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. See the bus map below for more information.
Please note that the Shape Corp. Innovation Design Center address is 227 Winter Avenue, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.
Student
If you have a GVSU Student Commuter or Valley Resident parking permit, you can park in the Seward Parking Ramp. If you do not have a GVSU parking permit there are pay-to-park meters on Winter Avenue and in the Starbucks lot next to the IDC. Parking Services also offers $10 1-Day Student Commuter Passes via the Parking Portal or 30-Day Student Commuter Passes at any Parking Services office. Faculty & Staff
GVSU faculty and staff can park in the DeVos Lot or Seward Lot on City Campus. Please note that GVSU enforces parking in the lot directly in front of the IDC. These spaces are reserved for visitors and service vehicles.
