PCE Student Information
Preparing for PCE Project Day
A successful presentation has two key components: the visual appearance of your poster and the quality of your work. Your project will be completed in class or through independent research.
PCE Project Day FAQs
PCE Project Day fosters meaningful conversations and cross-disciplinary learning. We invite high schools to participate in this event, which connects students with hands-on experiential learning. Presenting at Project Day is an opportunity to spark academic curiosity in engineering and STEM!
Project Day is also an opportunity to build your resume or portfolio and strengthen your public speaking skills. You will network with GVSU faculty, staff, and students as well.
Students usually present class projects, senior projects, startup projects, faculty/student projects, and industry sponsored research. You must have a PCE faculty or staff member sponsor your Project Day submission.
An information table for PCE Project Day presenters will be in the IDC next to the Solar Cage. There will be materials like easels and trifold boards for you to use. PCE staff will be present to help you set up.
- We will provide easels, trifold boards, and binder clips for your poster.
- Monitors can be checked out at Lab Support, which is next to the Solar Cage. Please make sure you request a monitor when you submit the PCE Project Day Registration Form.
- Name tags with all presenter names will be on your assigned table. Blank name tags will be available at the information table if needed.
- Snacks and water are provided for all presenters
Business casual attire; dress like you are going to an interview.
We invite high school students and teachers to Project Day. GVSU faculty and staff as well as industry sponsors and community members will also attend.
If you have a GVSU Student Commuter or Valley Resident parking permit, you can park in the Seward Parking Ramp. If you do not have a GVSU parking permit there are pay-to-park meters on Winter Avenue and in the Starbucks lot next to the IDC.
Note that GVSU enforces parking in the lot directly in front of the IDC. These spaces are reserved for visitors and service vehicles.
Please review the GVSU City Campus map to locate available parking.
