NSF Scholarship at GVSU Information

The Padnos College of Engineering (PCE) at Grand Valley State University is excited to announce a new scholarship program (BLOG: Belong, Leverage, Overcome and Grow) for incoming freshmen admitted to the engineering program at GVSU. This generous program is funded by the National Science Foundation. This scholarship program is designed to not only reduce financial barriers but also to provide the tools and support you need to thrive as an engineering student at GVSU.

Benefits:

• Financial Support: Up to $15,000 per year (based on unmet need) for a maximum of five years, from freshman year through graduation. Scholarship amount will vary based on unmet need but cannot exceed $15,000 per year.

• Comprehensive Support: Access to mentoring, academic resources, cohort, and professional development opportunities to help scholars succeed.

• Summer Camp: A 4-week summer camp (July 12 - August 8, 2025) is offered before you begin your freshman year at GVSU. Your food and on-campus housing will be provided, and you will also receive a stipend for participation. The camp is designed to strengthen your academic, professional, and social skills, while connecting you with professors, student tutors, and community families early on.

• Long-Term Commitment: Renewable annually for up to five years, provided eligibility requirements are met.

 

Eligibility:

*Admitted to an engineering major at the Padnos College of Engineering

*Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate engineering student at GVSU

*High school GPA of 3.3 or higher AND Pell-eligible

*Renewal of scholarship requires student to be in good academic standing

Financial need is required and shall be demonstrated by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
