Interfaith and Interwoven
We need knitters and crocheters to join us to help make mittens, hats and scarves for a classroom of 10 & 11 year old children at Godfrey Elementary. This district has the highest percentage of English learners in the state. According to the census they also have the highest poverty level, many children live in homes where it is not uncommon to have the heat turned off. We have been requested to deliver the mittens, etc.,personally to the children. Please join us in this wonderful project.
We will teach those who do not already know how to knit or crochet and can provide the yarn. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org
You are invited to join us for Interfaith & Interwoven: a group designed to build friendships while our hands are engaged in creating items for ourselves, our families, and/or charitable organizations. We had a great time meeting the past few summers, learning a lot about knitting and each other. Now, we are excited to offer this program during the winter as well and expand the range of handcrafts to include crocheting, needlepoint, cross-stitch and more!
Women of all ages (and handcraft abilities) from all faith and non-faith communities are invited to meet to dialogue about our traditions while crafting handmade goods. Please bring a willingness to be part of this group of hand-crafters. Coffee and hot water for tea will be provided. Also, bring any knitting or crocheting supplies that you have to use for yourself or to share with others.
We are accepting donations of knitting/crocheting supplies, yarn (washable), and patterns so others can knit/crochet even if you cannot. Monetary donations also accepted to help buy materials.
