Sacred Site Visit - Sikh Society of WM (Feb 2026)

Join the Kaufman Interfaith Institute team and the GVSU Religious Studies Department as we visit:

Sikh Society of West Michigan on Monday, February 16 from 6:00-7:30pm.

Expectations:

  • Everyone will be asked to remove their shoes and wash their hands upon entering the temple.
  • There may also be opportunities to sit on the floor, though chairs can be made available for anyone who may need one.
  • Also, all guests will be asked to cover their heads while visiting. If you do not have a scarf, bandana, or similar covering, one will be provided for you. No hats or hoods please!
  • Last but not least, our Sikh hosts will be serving us a communal meal called langar as a part of our visit. This meal is always vegetarian and very tasty, so bring an appetite!
