GVSU to celebrate life of César Chávez

The former press secretary for César E. Chávez is the keynote speaker for a Grand Valley event celebrating the life of Chávez, a labor leader and civil rights activist who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association in 1962.
Marc Grossman, spokesperson for the César Chávez Foundation and the United Farm Workers of America, will give a presentation about why Chávez's legacy remains relevant today.
The event will take place March 21 from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center, Grand River Room.
Grossman knew Chávez the last 24 years of his life, serving most of the time as his press secretary, speechwriter and personal aide.
