Faculty & Staff Associations (FSAs)

In alignment with the Division of People, Equity & Culture and the Department of Inclusion & Equity, GVSU Faculty and Staff Associations advance our collective commitment to an inclusive and equitable campus community where all faculty and staff can thrive.

As integral partners for actualizing shared equity leadership, FSAs cultivate community-building and well-being, advance professional growth and recognition, and drive shared agency and amplify voices. FSAs, open to all faculty and staff at GVSU, accomplish this collectively through the following pillars and associated priorities:

Cultivate Community & Well-being

  • Cultivate a robust, unified network that integrates the diverse experiences, perspectives, and needs of historically underserved and underrepresented faculty and staff.
  • Foster an inclusive and equitable community by providing resources and programming that prioritize holistic well-being and a sense of belonging.
  • Strengthen our collective impact through strategic collaboration with other FSAs as part of the FSA Leadership Council.

Advance Professional Growth & Recognition

  • Facilitate professional and personal development opportunities that enable faculty and staff to reach their full potential.
  • Champion institutional efforts to recruit, retain, and support the diverse community of faculty, staff, and students at GVSU.
  • Partner with regional organizations and institutions across Michigan to promote best practices, cultivate broader networks, and enhance learning for faculty and staff at GVSU.

Drive Shared Agency and Amplify Voices

  • Elevate the perspectives of FSA members to ensure their contributions are recognized and concerns are addressed at the institutional level.
  • As integral university leaders, collaborate with broader GVSU leadership in ways that are mutually responsive to drive co-created and interdependent actions in pursuit of our Reach Higher Together commitments.

There are many ways to get involved—whether you're interested in attending events, joining a planning committee, or taking on a leadership role. All levels of engagement are welcome and appreciated. To express your interest, select the contact form for the appropriate group under Get Connected.
