Essential Functions
- Application of paint and all related finishes.
- Preparation of surfaces to be refinished.
- Ability to work at heights up to 70 feet, in confined areas, and at times during inclement weather. Be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including bending, stooping and reaching.
- Willingness to work with student staff and other maintenance personnel in their duties as assigned.
- Willingness to work under supervision of painting specialist.
- Operate man lift equipment and scaffolding.
- Follow work assignments, instruction, labeled information and safety standards independently.
- An understanding of paints and related finishes.
- Provide quality customer service to faculty, staff, students and campus visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest and experience in all building maintenance areas as needed to perform the primary functions listed above.
- Satisfactory past work performance.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Willingness to work overtime and accept off-shift assignments.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in painting and finishing technique.
- One year of training or field experience.
- An understanding of accepted safety practices in the handling and storage of materials, paints, finishes and all related hazardous materials.
- Demonstrated ability to make repairs of all painted or finished walls or surfaces.

- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Must have the physical stamina to work long hours and/or more than 5 days per week.
