Job Summary

Performs general clerical duties for the Business Office, process the invoice payments of the university and receptionist duties.

Essential Functions

  • Process check runs.
  • Final quality control of university invoice payments and special handling of checks.
  • Print and mail the excess financial aid disbursements.
  • Perform daily bank activities for fraud protection.
  • Hire, train and supervise student employees for the scanning and indexing of university invoice payments.
  • Answer phone and greet public.
  • Interpret and communicate information from university computer systems to help answer customers questions.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions

  • Oversee distribution of mail for the Business and Finance offices.
  • Order and maintain office supplies for the Business and Finance offices.
  • Maintain and update procedures manual.
  • Assist in the scanning and indexing of university invoice payments.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Typing and spelling competency.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college course work.
  • Experience in higher education.

Supervision Received

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

Supervision Exercised

May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
