Multiple Student Papers Accepted to ASEE NCS Conference

The 2019 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) North Central Section (NCS) Conference will be held at GVSU this year on March 22 and 23. Engineering scholars gather from across the region to discuss a universal topic,Engineering Education and Industry: Finding the Balance between Practice and Theory. Two teams of GVSU students have been accepted to present their paper research topics.

Vijaya Lakshmi Jyothi Yemineni, Syeda Tahsina Tanjil, and Ratan Chandra Ghosh with GVSU faculty member, Dr. Shabbir A. Choudhuri, will be presenting their paper on autonomous parking lot administration. Their research was funded in part by the Presidential Research Grant which awards up to $1,500 in support of graduate student research projects. 

Colin Jack, Eric VanDyke, and Mohammad Safiullah, also with Dr. Choudhuri, will be presenting their paper on the development of multimedia resources for hands-on learning. Their research was funded in part by a Special Graduate Assistant project. Special projects graduate assistantships are intended to provide GVSU faculty and staff with well-qualified graduate students to work on projects that are unique and temporary in nature that make a positive impact on the academic mission of the university.
