Michigan Water and Wastewater Professionals Workforce Week webinars

Date and Time

Monday, December 8, 2025

Description

Water is one of our most valuable resources in Michigan and necessary to sustain life. Governor Gretchen Whitmer officially designated the week of December 8 -14, 2025, as Water and Wastewater Professionals Workforce Week to recognize the important role these critical water and wastewater professionals play in keeping the water running through our pipes and treating wastewater each day. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is hosting three webinars during this week. Join us as we celebrate those responsible for ensuring safe and reliable water to Michigan residents and treating our wastewater to protect our lakes, rivers, and streams.

All webinars will be recorded, but to obtain Continuing Education Credit (CEC) you will need to attend the live webinars and answer the poll questions conducted in each webinar.

In addition, there will be a focus on problems associated with lack of proper solids inventory control and how it can impact the ability of a plant to meet the most stringent total nitrogen removal permit limits. This hour-long webinar is brought to you by EGLE with technical assistance from Wichita State University.
