The Community Health Advisory Team will host a virtual town hall for campus community members to learn more about the state of health and wellness at Grand Valley.

The event is Wednesday, September 6, beginning at 1 p.m. Register for the event online to receive a Zoom webinar link. The registration form also includes space to ask a question.

Panelists are Dr. Robert Reneker, medical director for the Campus Health Center (Trinity Health); Edward Jones II, director of Student Health Services; and Preeti Kasatkar, campus community health specialist.

Jones said the town hall will provide an introduction to the function of CHAT and its advisory members, an update on public health monitoring on campus, and the current COVID-19 landscape.

"Arguably, communication is the most effective public health prevention tool," Jones said. "This town hall creates a platform where we can have an open dialogue with the Grand Valley community."

CHAT is composed of university employees and a representative from Trinity Health, which operates the Campus Health Center on the Allendale Campus. The GVSU Health Hub details health centers on the Allendale and Pew Grand Rapids campuses, and shares health and well-being resources for the campus community.
