'Virtually Hug a GI Week,' an initiative that will run from March 25-30, will raise awareness about veterans on campus and foster a sense of camaraderie.

"Virtually Hug a GI Week," an initiative that will run from March 25-30, will raise awareness about veterans on campus and foster a sense of camaraderie.

The Military and Veterans Resource Center will print 40 yard signs featuring faculty and staff members who are veterans and military-connected students and display them around the Allendale Campus. During that week, the campus community can then scan a QR code on a sign and virtually send a message of support.

To be included in the project, veterans and military-connected students can submit a photo of themselves by February 23. Questions can be directed to Shane Scherer, director of the MVRC, at [email protected].
