recognized for outstanding contributions or had their research
published are detailed below. The campus community can submit
a sketch online for future publication.
Len O'Kelly, associate professor of journalism,
broadcasting and digital media and director of the School of
Communications, was interviewed by Barrett Media for a story
about trends in the radio industry.
Sketches Sasha Debevec-McKenney, assistant professor of
writing, had a debut poetry collection, "Joy is My Middle
Name," included in The New Yorker’s list of Essential Reads
for 2025.
Bopi Biddanda, professor of water resources, was a
co-author of an article, "Great Lakes Scientists Unite: Warn of
Crucial Need for Federal Investments in Research," published in
the Lakes Letter.
Jeff Brynes, professor of philosophy, and
Michael DeWilde, professor of management, each
wrote chapters for a book, A
Companion to Doing Ethics, published by Wiley.
Carla Floyd-Slabaugh, associate professor of
occupational science and therapy, and program graduate Arika
Lanctot gave a presentation, "Pediatric Concussions,
What Are They and What Can Therapists Do?" at the Michigan Brain
Injury Association Conference.
Sanjivan Manoharan, associate professor of mechanical engineering, was named a MASU Distinguished Professor of the Year. Computing faculty member Paul Fink received NIH grants for two accessibility projects.
Deana Weibel gave a presentation at The Explorers Club in New York, drawing from her upcoming book, "The Ultraview Effect," about the profound impact that looking into deep space has on those who have traveled to space.
