The Laker Accelerated Talent Link Student Showcase will be May 1 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the John G. Russell Leadership Center.

The Laker Accelerated Talent Link program will celebrate the achievements of its student interns during the End-of-Year Showcase on Thursday, May 1, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the John G. Russell Leadership Center  on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.

The showcase will feature student presentations highlighting their work with employer partners (Corewell Health, Consumers Credit Union, Cascade Engineering, Acrisure, GVSU) and nonprofit organizations, including the Economic Club, United Way, Hispanic Center of West Michigan, Urban League, Small Business Association, and The Right Place. These nonprofit internships were made possible through generous support from the Amway Foundation and PNC Bank.

Matthew Streeter, who interned with The Right Place as part of its Business Intelligence and Research team, contributed to the organization's State of the Region report and presented at its annual Economic Outlook event.

“Thanks to the Talent Link program, I was able to continue my internship and gain hands-on experience,” Streeter said. “A highlight was co-authoring the State of the Region report. This opportunity sharpened my data analytics skills and taught me how to tell compelling stories with data — skills I’ll carry forward in my career.”

Faculty and staff can RSVP for the showcase online. Questions can be directed to Dana Hebreard, assistant director for CLAS Center for Experiential Learning, at [email protected].
