Tory Martin, director of communication and strategic
partnerships for the Johnson Center for Philanthropy, was interviewed
by Yahoo Life for a story about Gen
Z and their philanthropy.
Patrick Shan, professor of history, was interviewed
by WZZM TV for a live story about the Lunar
New Year.
Brian Johnson, professor of criminology, criminal
justice and legal studies, was interviewed by Capital News Service for
a story in the Alpena News about legislation to add corrections
officers to the state police pension program.
Sketches Writing faculty members Christopher Toth and
Samantha Dine gave a presentation, "Interning
Abroad: Assessing Experiential Learning with Scottish Charities,"
at the International Conference for the Association of Business Communication.
Polly Diven, professor of political science, gave a
presentation, "Women in War Rooms: Testing the Impact of Female
Leadership on Foreign Policy Decision-Making," at the
International Security Studies Association Meeting.
Highlights include a team of engineering students who placed third in a national competition, and an initiative from IT Innovation and Research that was featured in the 2025 Educause Horizon Report.
Joel Potrykus traveled to the Criterion Closet in New York to select his favorite films. The Wellness Information Team recognized faculty members with Well-Being Awards.
