Description
The Victims of Pan Am Flight 103, Inc. (VPAF103) – Legacy Awards are given each year to two individuals pursuing advanced degrees at U.S. institutions in areas related to improved national security and terrorism prevention. The awards were established in 2018 to honor the 270 lives lost in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 on December 21, 1988. Details about the awards and how to apply are as follows:
- The VPAF103-Legacy Fellow will receive a $5000 award and will be selected from among those applicants who have three or more years of professional experience in fields related to national security and terrorism prevention.
- The VPAF103-Legacy Scholar will receive a $2000 award and will be selected from among those applicants who are just completing or have recently completed their undergraduate degrees, i.e., within the last three years.
Current seniors, graduate students, and professionals who are planning careers in areas related to national security and terrorism prevention, and who are/will be pursuing advanced degrees at U.S. colleges and universities are eligible to apply for the applicable award.

The application deadline is February 21, 2026, with two letters of recommendation due February 28, 2026.
