Hello Lakers! I am an Academic Advisor in the CLAS Advising Center and will work with pre-professional students in the health majors. I am a graduate of GVSU with a B.S. in Physical Education with a Coaching Emphasis and a M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Leadership and am excited to be back at my alma mater.  While at GVSU as an undergrad I was a member of the Cross Country/Track and Field teams. Prior to joining the CLAS Academic Advising Center I was an Academic Advisor for student-athletes at Davenport University. In my free time I enjoy playing golf and spending time with my family and friends. I look forward to meeting you!

Hi! I am Bridget and am so excited to be part of CLAS advising team. I graduated in 2022 from Aquinas College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and communication with a minor in Marketing. I will be completing my Master’s degree in College Student Affairs Leadership from GVSU in 2024. During my Master’s program, I was able to be a graduate assistant in advising here at GVSU and worked with Brown University Pre-College in both residence life and experience as well as retention and recruitment. I have also been able to work with Admissions, Student Activities and Residence Life with Aquinas College. In my free time, I love all things food – eating, cooking, baking and trying new restaurants. I hope you are willing to share some of your favorite Grand Rapids eats! I also love building Legos and long walks and reading. Can’t wait to meet you!

I am from Detroit Michigan and recently received my Master’s in Higher Education, Leadership, and Student Affairs. I also received my undergraduate degree in Sociology and minor in African American Studies at Grand Valley in 2019. I work for CLAS Advising, as an academic advisor for science majors. As a first-generation graduate, I understand the importance of programs that provide students from diverse backgrounds with resources that help obtain academic success. I am excited to work with students from diverse backgrounds and help them achieve their academic and personal goals. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, eating out, watching movies, reading, doing makeup, traveling, and experiencing new things.

I was born in Lansing and raised in Williamston, MI, a small town right next to MSU’s campus. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Western Michigan University in 2017. I then went on to attend GVSU in the College Student Affairs Leadership program and graduated with my Masters of Education in 2019. Previously, I worked as the Graduate Assistant for the University Counseling Center/Career Center and was the intern for TRIO-STEM and Health Sciences here at GVSU. After graduation, I took a position at SUNY Oneonta in Oneonta, NY, as a Residence Hall Director and Advisor for NRHH. I previously worked here at Grand Valley with TRIO Student Support Services working with first-generation college students like myself, so you may recognize me. I am now excited to join CLAS as an Academic Advisor. Outside of work I live with my fiancé and our dog Winston, a great dane/hound mix (I will show you pictures if you ask) and I enjoy going to Lake Michigan, spending time with family and friends, gardening, reading, and painting.

This wonderful woman who was born and raised in the City of Chicago, is ready to start her GVSU journey with you!

Higher Education was not my original path, after graduating from Hope College with a Music and Theatre Performance degree in 1998. But after working with various schools in Student Success Coaching, Academic Advising, Recruitment, Student Accounts and Financial Aid for 17yrs – it gave me the satisfaction I longed for and continue to improve on. Which is helping students understand their needs, their futures, themselves, and the policies and procedures that I couldn’t comprehend. Please come ready for us to work!

My daily passions now in life are 2-hour naps, good food (whether cooked or bought), Broadway, the Theatre and beautiful, wonderful music being played every day. You never know, you might see me on a Grand Rapids stage someday…giving a TED talk to YOUR company!

What’s up Lakers?? My name is Jaydenn Knepp and I’m a first-year graduate student studying Higher Education in the College of Student Affairs Leadership here at GVSU. I grew up on the east side of Michigan but moved to Kalamazoo to attend Western Michigan University. There I received my Bachelor of Musical Arts degree with an emphasis in vocal education and minored in gender and women’s studies. I discovered my passion for student affairs after being the President of WMU’s student chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association and working for Housing and Residence Life where I had the opportunity to connect with students outside of academic settings. In my spare time, I enjoy attending drag shows, watching objectively bad reality TV, and taking weekend trips around the Midwest.  I look forward to meeting with you!

Greetings! I grew up in the Michigan’s Upper Peninsula near Sault Ste. Marie and now I’m looking forward to exploring the Grand Rapids area! I’m a proud alum of Michigan State University where I majored in Human Capital & Society and minored in Youth & Society. Working with prospective college students and others throughout their college journey have inspired me to help create learning environments where everyone can benefit personally and professionally. I fully believe that every career or trade of work is valuable to the community and want to help students find their interests so they can do what they love! I can’t wait to learn more in grad school with my Student Affairs Administration studies here at GVSU! In my free time I love exploring new areas or restaurants and being outside! I look forward to helping you in any way!
