Brady Middleton For Michigan is the campaign committee that was organized in accordance with Michigan's election laws for the purpose of electing Brady Middleton, myself, to the Michigan State House of Representatives. The committee consists of myself the candidate, Ryan Vanvolkinburg the treasurer, Russell VanAllen the campaign manager, Joy Garvelink the media relations manager, and multiple advisors from different personal backgrounds and professional fields.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Through this process I have really honed my ability to communicate complex issues simply and coherently. I have learned what it takes to network and get involved in multiple different initiatives. I have gained a whole new level of appreciation for candidates but more importantly the people who support them. I have gained the insight into what really matters in "most" elections and sadly it isn't genuine ability or merit, but mostly fundraising ability, connections, and the compilation of many random outside factors that are uncontrollable. I have learned the importance of scheduling in advance. I have learned the importance of teamwork and the value of good leadership. Most importantly, I have learned a good leader leads by example with humble conviction.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Being absolutely and completely overwhelmed yet overcoming. At times being on top of the world and at other times being in the dumps filled with doubt.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I love election season. It is a rush. It is competition. It is inspired. It is honorable. And I will always be a part of it in one way or another.
