Description of the Organization
The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,500 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition. The MHSAA consists of roughly 25 employees, and more specifically an executive staff of 12 people.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Daily responsibilities and skills will be handling daily correspondence, insurance planning, officials training, tournament scheduling and policy writing
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Through my experience with the MHSAA I developed my personal and work related organizational skills greatly. I also greatly improved on my communication skills, more specifically directly with customers.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of the internship experience was the hands on experience I gained while working the Michigan High School State Soccer, Baseball, and Softball Championships.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has influenced my career goals by showing me the work ethic it takes to successfully run sporting events and professional organizations.
