Description of the Organization
I worked for the Adidas Group this summer more specifically Reebok. Reebok is a sports apparel and footwear company that was bought by Adidas a rival sports apparel and footwear company in 2005. Reebok focuses primarily on selling fitness footwear and apparel.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I updated Marketing Overhead and Marketing working budget for marketing groups. Reclassed expenses to be charged to the correct cost center using SAP. I created organization charts for the company. Updated athlete contracts on athlete management system (AMS), an online database for storing details of athlete contracts. I also consolidated bank charges onto excel spreadsheets and organized binders with various lease agreements, bank guarantees, and line of credits.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned a lot. The main thing was I learned how I corporate business is run. I learned the importance of communication in a corporation. I also learned more advanced skills in the programs SAP, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Favorite Part of the Experience
As a person who loves sports. Learning about the contracts Reebok has with the different athletes was my favorite part.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Yes. It told me that working for the business side of a sports related company was what I wanted to do for my career.
