Description of the Organization

Adient is a global leader in the automotive seating industry, designing and manufacturing seating systems for major automakers such as Honda, Ford, and more. This company has approximately 70,000 employees across 200+ facilities in 29 countries, making it one of the biggest and most influential organizations across the globe.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

During my rotation, I worked on different projects, for example, MES, which is the system for the downtimes of all the machines across the production floor, making new windows in ignition software, and helping reduce the number of software used across the plant to only use Ignition.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

Through my different tasks and projects, I learned a variety of skills. From the use of PLCs to the use of Ignition, something completely new to me, and for which I had to research to complete the task I got assigned.

Favorite Part of the Experience

My favorite part about my time working at Adient was seeing and being part of the production that takes place in the organization. Through the use of Ignition and my everyday presence at the company, I had the chance to interact with the work being done on the production floor, something valuable and key in the success of the company.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This experience will be something I will always remember because it has not only made me more knowledgeable on PCLs and Ignition, but also on teamwork and the morals of production, making me strive to continue being part of such a big company in the future.
