LA Miller Boutique is a small women's clothing store downtown Rockford, Michigan. It was founded in 2016 in Lisa Miller's basement and a year later was moved to its first storefront in August 2017. LA Miller offers women's clothing, locally crafted jewelry, unique footwear, and BeautyCounter skincare and cosmetics.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

I was the Digital Marketing Manager and Event Coordinator for the small, locally-owned boutique. I was in charge of improving the website & social media content & exposure, creating advertisements for news media, brochures, & direct mail, planning and promoting events, and scheduling networking events with other local businesses & influencers.

Favorite Part of the Experience

My favorite part about this internship experience was building relationships with other local businesses and community members that were benefited or impacted by the events I coordinated for the boutique. It has been a lot of fun seeing people connect with the brand as well as watching my supervisor, the boutique owner, flourish in her dream.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This experience has made it clear to me that I am highly skilled in building relationships with businesses and employees as well as skilled in sales strategy & communicating effectively within the business I am associated with.
