Description of the Organization

Professional Fabricating and Manufacturing is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has been serving customers with superior metal fabrication and manufacturing services for over 30 years.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

As far as projects Iýve worked on, one project was a cabinet sent by a customer where I had to go over the entire drawing package, create flat patterns, build BOMs & routers, add weld symbols if needed, apply GD&T where applicable, and process WOs. That was a project that was assigned to me, and I was responsible of getting everything completed before we can send it out to the floor. Iýve also worked in the assembly department for a couple weeks where I helped assemble some of the components of that cabinets such as the door, door jams, locks&etc.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

Iýve developed a handful of skills when working as a design engineer. Some of the skills I gained were 3D modeling, where I gained almost 2 years of experience on inventor as well as receiving certifications for part modeling and assembly provided by the company. Iýve also worked with AutoCAD to look at flat patterns and make sure all the features on a part are visible as well as all the bend lines. Using our companyýs ERP system, I was able to build BOMs and routers for the parts being made as well as process work orders and be able to release them to the shop floor.
