Description of the Organization
John Ball Zoo creates a wonderful learning atmosphere for all ages. Hands-on and visual learning experiences throughout a guests visit leave them wanting to come back again.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked in the interactive exhibits and handling animals for guest to view. I also facilitated programs for Zoo Society members and birthday parties for young children, again handling animals for them to learn about.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned new facts about animals and habitats. This internship further solidified my understanding of ecology and ecosystems while also providing a solid background in working with the public.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Handling the animals was my favorite part of this experience.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It made me realize my major has many doors to careers I did not realize before.
