ASM Global is an international company that supports arena box offices. In Grand Rapids they are in charge of the Van Andel Arena, Devos Convention Center, and the DeVos Performance Hall.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Day of show or event, you would come in count your cash drawer and log into their sales system. Once doors open you will be helping with customer services issues and ticket pick ups.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Something I gained from this experience was customer service skills. Not everyone is going to respond the same way. They may have the same issue but they will not always respond the same.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Learning more of the event coordination with big performers. I got to see how shows were set up and what all goes into ticket sales.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I have learned that I am not a desk job kind of person. I like to be involved in the action of the job not just the paperwork.
