Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

My third coop was focused on project engineering. This job was exciting and I learned a lot of valuable skills related to polymer processing and program management. I worked with other engineers on two main projects and was given a lot of independence with tasks. Each day was different and dependent on the task at hand and customer demands.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

I learned effective organizational skills to manage a 20 tool program launch. I learned PPAP documentation, troubleshooting of tooling issues, AAR process, etc. This process mostly helped me develop critical thinking skills and time management skills. Throughout this coop I was intensely busy - I learned valuable skills related to task delegation and organization.

Favorite Part of the Experience

The independence was my favorite part. My mentors/boss had enough confidence in me to let me run with projects with little supervision. When new items would come to me I would ask necessary questions and then be on my way. If I didn't know something I would ask questions and get help. For the most part I was operating autonomously and providing a positive contribution to the team.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This experience helped show me that I have the necessary organizational skills to handle larger projects. This shows that my technical skills and my organizational skills can be valuable to me in the work force.
