Description of the Organization

Adient is one of the global leaders in automotive seating. Adient does work for a wide variety of vehicles, but the plant I worked at focused on Honda, Ram, Acura, and Toyota. Adient has plants all over the world, such as Mexico, Germany, and Morocco. Adient resides in a total of 29 countries.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

I worked on and completed a variety of tasks throughout the semester. This included updating/writing PLC logic, updating/making HMI screens, updating/making Ignition screens, and helping fix any problem that arose. This could be helping sort non-conforming parts, troubleshooting machines, or helping out other departments. I had my projects to work on, but constantly got pulled off to help with the next hot project, which kept my work days interesting.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

This semester I gained more knowledge in coding in PLC logic. I learned about databases and managing databases through the use of MSSQL, which was cool. I also got to refine some of my problem-solving skills when it comes to real-world industry problems.

Favorite Part of the Experience

I would say my favorite part of the semester was getting to work on PLCs and PLC logic. I think PLCs are very interesting and would love to keep learning about them and mastering them.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This experience has influenced my future career goals. This is something that I would love to learn more about and maybe even pursue when I graduate. There are a bunch of opportunities for a controls engineer and they keep to work with a lot of cool things.
