Description of the Organization
REP4®FinLit is a financial literacy platform created by college students, for college students. Developed through Grand Valley State University in partnership with the Fifth Third Foundation, it uses simple, relatable language to help young adults achieve financial independence. Our team at GVSU's Project Grand Path consists of a team of around 20 employees from a wide variety of majors and backgrounds.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Throughout my time at REP4®FinLit, I helped create a financial personality quiz and add many new features to the company website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I have gained a great amount of practice in HTML, CSS, JS, and web development, alongside using GitHub in a relatively professional setting. I also gained valuable knowledge about UI/UX design and Agile workflows.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of the internship was working with every part of the team in the same room, and getting the opportunity to learn how all the different teams worked in real time.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It has opened up the possibility for me to become a full-stack or other type of web developer in the future.
